Celebrating International Women’s Day at the Ballina RSL

This March, Sistability proudly participated in the International Women’s Day Luncheon at the Ballina RSL—an inspiring gathering that brought together community leaders, business owners, and local residents to celebrate the achievements of women and discuss important issues surrounding gender equality.

Honoring Women in Our Community
The event was a powerful reminder of the incredible contributions women make in every sphere of life—at work, at home, and in the community. The theme of this year’s luncheon, “Accelerate Action,” focused on the need to drive meaningful progress toward gender equality. It was a call to acknowledge the barriers women still face and to unite in finding solutions that create greater opportunities for all.

As a female-founded, locally owned business, Sistability’s mission aligns closely with these goals. We’ve always believed in empowering women, whether by providing meaningful employment opportunities, supporting mothers returning to the workforce, or creating a culture where women can thrive personally and professionally. Being part of the International Women’s Day Luncheon felt like a natural extension of our core values and a chance to share our story.

Our Giveaway for an Inspiring Woman
In the spirit of the occasion, we were delighted to offer a special giveaway as part of the event. Attendees were invited to nominate a remarkable woman who puts others before herself—someone whose dedication and hard work often go unnoticed. The response was heartwarming, with many sharing stories of the selfless, caring, and resilient women in their lives.

After reading these incredible nominations, we were thrilled to present a free house clean to Lauren McGuiness, a mother of two young children who juggles her family responsibilities while working more than 40 hours a week in the medical field. Lauren’s dedication and tireless efforts truly embody the spirit of International Women’s Day. By offering her a small moment of care and support, we hoped to show our appreciation for everything she does and remind her of how much she is valued.

Reflections on the Luncheon
The Ballina RSL provided the perfect setting for this event. The venue was filled with a vibrant energy, as people shared stories, exchanged ideas, and enjoyed a delicious lunch. Keynote speakers highlighted the progress that’s been made in gender equality, while also addressing the work that still lies ahead.

One of the most inspiring aspects of the luncheon was hearing from women who have overcome significant challenges to achieve success. Their stories of resilience, determination, and innovation served as a reminder that when we invest in women, entire communities benefit. This event wasn’t just about celebrating past achievements; it was about motivating all of us to continue pushing for meaningful change.

Our Ongoing Commitment
Sistability’s participation in the International Women’s Day Luncheon reinforced our commitment to supporting women in every way we can. As a company, we strive to make a difference not only through the services we provide but also through the opportunities we create. Our female-led team is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where women feel supported, valued, and empowered to succeed.

Looking ahead, we’ll continue to seek ways to uplift and inspire women in our community. Whether through our professional cleaning and gardening services, the employment opportunities we offer, or our involvement in events like this one, we remain committed to driving positive change.

A Special Thanks
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Ballina RSL for hosting this meaningful event, as well as to all the attendees who made the day so memorable. It was an honor to be part of a celebration that brought our community together to recognize the incredible impact of women and to renew our shared commitment to equality and progress.

As we reflect on the day, we’re filled with a sense of pride and motivation to keep making a difference. We look forward to many more opportunities to celebrate, support, and empower the women who inspire us every day.
